Learn about the legal implications of social media

Leon Porter - AttorneyLeon Porter, a Winston-Salem attorney, will join us Nov. 22 to discuss the legal side of social media. Porter has worked with companies such as Sara Lee Corp. and Jefferson Pilot to help them navigate business, corporate, employment, intellectual property and franchising law. At our November professional development meeting, he’ll address:

  • How recent legal developments impact social media
  • Why you need permission to use certain kinds of information
  • How old law is still good law

Porter earned his B.A. in Economics with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from Wake Forest University where he was graduated Cum Laude. He is a former partner in a major national law firm.

Directions to Millis Center at High Point Regional Health System

From Greensboro, Eastern and Northern North Carolina:

  • Take I-85 South.
  • Take the exit for Business I-85 to the exit for Kivett  Drive.
  • Turn right onto Kivett Drive toward downtown High Point.
  • Turn right onto Main Street (Route 311)
  • Turn left onto Westwood Avenue.
  • Turn right into the second parking lot (just before Boulevard Street).
  • Travel straight through the lot toward the front of Millis Regional Health Education Center building.

From Winston Salem and Western North Carolina:

  • Take I-40 East to 311 South toward High Point.
  • Follow 311 for approximately 10 miles and take 311 Business/ Main Street exit.
  • Continue on Main Street through a series of stoplights – through the intersections at Eastchester Drive and Lexington Avenue.
  • At Westwood Avenue, take a right.
  • Turn right into the second parking lot (just before Boulevard Street).
  • Travel straight through the lot toward the front of Millis Regional Health Education Center building.
