Leon Porter, a Winston-Salem attorney, will join us Nov. 22 to discuss the legal side of social media. Porter has worked with companies such as Sara Lee Corp. and Jefferson Pilot to help them navigate business, corporate, employment, intellectual property and franchising law. At our November professional development meeting, he’ll address:
- How recent legal developments impact social media
- Why you need permission to use certain kinds of information
- How old law is still good law
Porter earned his B.A. in Economics with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from Wake Forest University where he was graduated Cum Laude. He is a former partner in a major national law firm.

- Take I-85 South.
- Take the exit for Business I-85 to the exit for Kivett Drive.
- Turn right onto Kivett Drive toward downtown High Point.

- Take I-40 East to 311 South toward High Point.
- Follow 311 for approximately 10 miles and take 311 Business/ Main Street exit.
- Continue on Main Street through a series of stoplights – through the intersections at Eastchester Drive and Lexington Avenue.
- At Westwood Avenue, take a right.
