Community Service

Community Service projects are a function for our chapter, and if you'd like to learn more contact our Community Service coordinators, Kristy Kennedy and Melissa McGill, at community@prsatarheel.org.

The 2008 PRSA Tar Heel Community Service Project is a contribution of time and skills to the Triad "Free to Breathe" 5K on November 15 to benefit the National Lung Cancer Partnership. The chapter is recruiting members to run or walk the race as part of our team, contribute skills to the public relations effort for the event, and donations for the organization.

To join the PRSA Tarheel Chapter's "Free To Breathe" team, sign up for the race online:

For members interested in higher education, the Tar Heel Chapter of PRSA also sponsors the Appalachian State University Chapter and the Elon University Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. PRSA members provide students with "real world" advice and experiences in the public relations field. In addition, accredited members may use their involvement in the PRSA Tar Heel Chapter's community service projects to earn points towards maintenance of their accreditation.
